yep - i have had customers come to me with 3 and 4 electrode plugs, with the packaging showing big arc welding quality current being passed to all 4 straps simultaneously - false advertising, but so many people believe it...

Ran Autolites for decades in my small block Fords without issues. A few years ago I went to double platinum Autolites due to changing to a wasted-spark ignition. The "Made in China" Autolites from the local parts store didn't screw into the heads tightly, threads seemed loose. Bought some from another source, same issue. Big Joe recommended NGK's and they've been great.

benno's post correctly suggests that some multi/weird ground electrode plugs appear to be more gimmick than performers, but by way of contrast, well-respected Autolite race plugs have recently been switched to just such a design. I can tell you we haven't lost an electrode since!

some have 4 machined on electrodes
