I am sorry if I missed something about the answer to which head is the better casting. Is the assualt the best?
ProHeader/Assault/NKB "New Kid On the Block" (Skip White's name for them)/RPC "Race Precision Components"/Power Products(Competition Products name)/PRE Precision Race Engines and several others all use this same casting.
As a bare casting, all are selling the same part....differences will be in assembly parts they use for their fully assembled head.

Uuuuh. Touchy... Just a bit...
I am hardly jealous of you Americans..
I get up every morning and thank god I'm in Canada ,bud.
Every day.
By the way our 2 countries just signed a deal to dtop the Trump tariffs on steel and aluminum illegally imposed on Canada. (But now resolved)
Ya it matters to Both of us.
Now a NAFta/USMCA deal is now POSSIBLE..
YOU in America NEED THAT DEAL MORE THAN WE DO..
PS now with this deal the price of Aluminum maY not spike....
Just you know, I am a citizen of both Canada and the USA. By birth. When ever I or anyone else here buy any high performance parts (including all aluminum cylinder heads they come from USA. (Off shore castings or not) We are your best customer. Like it or not.
Everything effects everything. Especially right on the border. Hardly jealous of you, ever.
The price of those off shore cast aluminum cylinder heads and intake manifolds is going to increase.
Like it or not.
Are they any good??
I seem to remember that years ago the cheap Chi-Com Pro-Com or whatever aluminum heads were JUNK so have they gotten that much better to use now?
No more BS, Yes or No!!
And I am talking about for a street engine! Not some, "balls out", race engine!
You need to specify which "chi-com" cylinder head casting you are looking at. These Assault /ProHeader castings are nothing like a Speedmaster79- ProComp casting.
The first generation pf ProComp castings were very bad and lackluster on power too.
There have been more than 1 variation/version of the flotec castings too.
They are not all the same.
I did alot of research on this. My supplier has renamed procomps. I will stay away from anything procomp. But i ended up trying the assaults. Which seem to have w good reputation. But for more money i would if i wanted to spend more would go with the profilers

Profilers have “pro” in the name, but they’re not Chinese. Cast in Ohio.
Like already mentioned by ericnova.
The castings from Proheader RPC KMJ Competition plus are all the same castings.
They are a copy of the Dart platinum design.
They are a great casting for the money and make a great entry level head.
I sell them locally with all Erson PBM valvetrain.
They are NOT the same casting as the Procomp/Speedmaster offering.

A terrible name for such good heads.

ProComp(now SpeedMaster 79) really managed to put a stink on the word "Pro" for anyone using it in a product name, didn't they...
Still hoping for an answer here, but see more and more caving to the cheap stuff....Who is going to complain when the USA guys go overseas or go under all together? Everyone gonna be happy about getting a deal or getting upset cause they gotta pay for porting and machine work to make the junk work?
In the meantime looking for a cheapo bare set to experiment with....
The current Flo-Tek is a third design, not the same as the better import casting or the ProComp/Speedmaster castings.
The Flo-Tek is also said to be a pretty decent casting. I have not tried it.

I think Ericnova answered it pretty dang well on the last page, and even went so far as to post links. If it is a good enough casting for porters to use and put their name on, they would be good enough for a hack like me to screw up.

Anyone see the heads called "performance world" ? They are being sold in Canada by Mopac. I'm told they come direct from China to Canada so Canadians don't have to pay the sickening US exchange rate. Thats just second hand opinion. Don't know much about them but i do know a few guys are using them in my home town. BBC and SBC.

I saw some heads labeled ProMaxx or something like that.
The castings looked decent.
The intake port openings were among the best as-cast that I have ever seen.
