Hi my son is going to race a 1985 pontiac grand prix, with a 305 chevy engine on a 3/8 mile dirt banked oval, does anyone have a starting point of springs we should try, thanks

I would start with a 1000 pound right front spring, an 800 pound left front, 200 pound left rear, and 150 pound right rear.

After you install these springs, jack on the center of the rear end until both rear tires come off the ground. The right rear tire should be 4 inches higher off the ground then the left rear. I hope this helps.

I am the author of a book "Street Stock Tips & Tricks" which covers this subject and has many other helpful tips for a racer just starting out.

Thanks,
