frame bracing

Post by cthom1969 »

Hi everyone i was trying to think of the best way to reinforce the rear frame rails on a 67 camaro. I was concerned about the leaf spring mounting points. The car still has the original type fuel tank in the factory location. Subframes are already tied together with DSE connectors through floor pan. The rear frame rails are new reproductions not fabricated square rails.

Thanks

What direction? Lateral can be picked up with a Panhard rod/staybar. Vertical through a roll hoop brace. Longitudinal forces are through the front spring eye.

A simple cross bar welded between the frame rail at the upper section similar to a shock mount will help, though DSE had a u shaped fabricated pc at one time, or someone did, other than that it is a cage tie in.
