Leaf Springs For Truck PULLING

Post by pullchev »

Currently I run 10 rear leaf springs with a blocked suspension, so the leaf springs are doing little. I am thinking about removing 5 rear leaf springs and only running 5 with the suspension still blocked. Will this be okay or no?

*Note- class rules, must run leaf springs

How are you blocking the suspension? The main situation is being able to control rear end twist with the smaller leaf count. This can cause wheel hop and a host of other issues. The big thick leaf on the bottom or Over load leaf as its known in the spring world is very easily broken right in the center bolt hole if things get to out of hand. I see no ill effects going to a five leaf spring but if you're blocking the suspension anyway I'm trying to see what your trying to accomplish other than losing weight?

What type truck are we dealing with? Chevy/Ford/Dodge/

Each of those trucks could have different widths is why I ask.
