Holes/Sealing off rear bumper

Post by BOOT »

Ok I see all the import guys cutting holes in their rear bumper covers for drag race and of course I gotta stop and ask if it's just for looks. Now I know underbody aero has to do with it and some cars it might matter more than others. Say for example a foxbody mustang with the stock gas tank removed, has a lot of open bumper. I'm not about to go cutting holes in my bumper, but at what point drag racing would it be beneficial to seal it off?
