Aluminum Rad repair

I've got a fairly expensive, custom made Al. Rad.
Its split and weeping where the core and bottom tank join.
My local rad guy won't even look at it.
This joint seems to be some kind of hi-melt point wax or epoxy or ?
I read one thread where a guy says he repairs this joint with JB Weld, thinned with alcohol so it will pour into this area.
It is down in a "U" shaped recess where you could pour something in there. What do they use to seal this joint ? Its a Griffin Rad if that helps.
Anyone else got any experience here ??
