Don Terrill’s Speed-Talk

This is something that has me confused a little. I usually build circle track cars, but right now, I have a '67 Firebird that we are redoing the cage in. I've redesigned the cage and improved it from what was in it. My question is why would the previous "fab" person install the rear clip 3/4" to the right of center? It's a ladder bar car. I didn't notice the difference until I was installing the new, front drivesahft loop. Mine was centered and the existing was to the right.

Is this common with ladder bar cars, or did the original person make a mistake reading the tape measure?

Nobody knows anything about ladder bar chassis?
