Brake material question

Does anyone have a suggestion for a high performance friction material that won't turn the white wheels on my 71 C20 black or brown? I have been towing a lot of heavy loads in the past few years and I upgraded the friction materials to improve the braking ability. The stuff I am using is one of those carbon ceramic, or something like that. I think they sold me the same thing for my car, and now I have to wash the material off the wheels every time I race.

Ah yes: "Praise Dyno Brakes"; used them ~30 years ago in a Showroom Stock Camaro Series.

Appear to be closed now, per: http://www.yelp.ca/biz/praise-dyno-brake-royse-city

Check with Porterfield.

They can custom make. I got their -71 Pantera pads. Huge improvement, no mess.

Sorry, I forgot about them!

If I remember right, they might(???) still sell the old "stock-type" metallic shoes, don't know about pads though?

Good for anti-heat fade, but hard on drums and such due to abrasion.

I believe Praise Dyno was either sold or re-named Muscle Car brakes. They are still in Texas. Once you see their website, you'll recognize all of the old praise dyno nomenclature and kit stages.

The Ceramic pads are touted as being "dust free" or "low dust". Most OEMs now use the Ceramic pads as standard equipment.

I suspect that the "carbon/ceramic" pads you have are an inferior brand. Try a high end brand of Ceramic pads and I think you will be pleased with the results.
