Metric monte lower ball joint

Post by mcbrake »

we are running a 86 monte with Moog 6145 lower ball joints, stock and
short. I have heard that a moog 6117 taller truck ball joint will fit the lower arm and raise the spindle 3/8 of an inch. Problem , the 6117 is
much smaller at the press area, anybody have an answer for what would work.

You can weld the ball jt in, not a good option. Or Mic the ball jt and the A arm. find a piece of tubing that acts as a bushing for the ball jt...... weld in the tubing and press in the ball jt. Might take some machine work, I have done this with camaro cont arms, but not the metric ones.

FYI, we sell a Howe ball joint PN 22420 that is a direct press in replacement for your Chevelle/MC chassis....it is the std. length but has replaceble studs and longer studs are available lengths of + .100, .200,
.300, .400 & .500 in. also should you bend one the stud only can be replaced saving you a little green,,,,these are a very precision part and you won't believe how much more freely thes move than the OEM ball joints.....they're not cheap but worth what they cost....if you need more info e-mail me @ pffoust@earthlink.net ...hope this is useful....
