M?T slicks with no tubes 28 x 10 x 15 "S" side wal

Post by seefour »

anybody here run 28 x 10 x 15 "S" side wall slicks with no tubes/
I have talked with several people who tell me they run more than normal pressure with out tubes , like 14-16 lbs on high horsepower cars.

I tried 11 1/8 to 11 1/4 with out tubes and it seamed to buch the tire up and collape the sidewall, not leaving a steady footprint
this is a 28 x 10 x 15 slick on a 10 inch rim.

I watched a slow motion vidoe of the car leaving, it ran 6.19 with a 1.44 60 ft and a 6.29 with a 1.499 60 ft, off idle 1/8 mile
6.19 was 112.97 mph and 6.29 was 111.65 mph

thanks
Dave

I have never run the stiffs. I do run the 28x10s and 28x10w. Normally 11-13 pounds, but can go higher on a good track. Sixty foots 1.44-1.47 normally. MJ

We'll, here is a shot of a 1.51 sixty at 3300lbs.. same exact tire, stiff sidewall at 12lbs... car also has a rather soft hitting 10" convertor too...

Id say go up to about 13lbs and see if it likes it.. keep going up till the sixtys fall off...

Nice Cutlass! I would install an anti-roll bar and get that thing to leave level.
