I don't have a Mustang, it's a 70 Nova but I'll give ya my settings. I spent some time with John Calvert at the track working this out, if you are having trouble don't hesistate to call John he is a GREAT guy to work with and will offer all the help you need..Ok here goes;

Bottom hole
Full loose Koni SPA1's, 5" of travel (travel is VERY important)
11 lbs, 8' wide wheel
QA1 single adjustable 4 clicks from full loose (video the car at launch to see how hard you are hitting the rear tire), this will help with your setting. In slow motion you could see my tire was hitting so hard the rim dam near touched the track, then when the tire would come back to it's normal shape it would un-load, so we stiffened up the extension to calm it down and it hooks MUCH better.
1/2 turn pre-load
All this is with mid to high 1.30's MT 29.5 x9 stiff sidewall slick, I also have the Calvert racing split monos.

TRACK TIME 7-21-07

Post by seefour »

I HAD ONE MOMENT IN THE SUN LAST NIGHT, I CHANGED THE SHOCKS AND UNHOOKED THE TRAVEL LIMITERS . THE XCAR DID GOT INTO THE 1.30'S BARELY, RAN 3.96 AT 330 AND 6.15 1/8 MILE, I PUT A LARGER RETURN PILL IN BUT SLOWED UP ON THE MPH.

THE DOWN SIDE IS I PUSHED THE FRONT SEAL OR CRACKED THE FRONT PUMP ON THE C-4 AND PUT FLUID DOWN RIGHT AT THE TURN OFF AND RETURN ROAD, ONE PASS ONLY LAST NIGHT, PULLING TRANS TODAY

I hope it's just the seal. I have a daughter that lives in Frisco, is that anywhere near you?? Good luck with the trans, thank God it happened at the turnoff and not as you were going thru the lights, that coulda been ugly.

Have you actually measured the run out? I had .042 with the aftermarket bell and was happy it wasn't further! I could buy the Moroso part and not have to make two!

gasket

Post by seefour »

No. the gasket is the front pump gasket, my fault i think . I changed bell housings to an aftermarket and I think I tore it but didnt know it until it leaked, should have leaked right away but didnt.

the index is a 6.20 index 1/8 mile
