i have a 76 vega with a torque arm set up. is this a decent setup? in the future i wanna be running 10's in this car ive talked to quite a few h-body owners and they said with some work this suspension is proven to run in the 9's on a small tire car. i boxed in my control arms,am bracing up the torque arm,put in poly bushings,z28 springs, new shocks. does this sound about right? or is there more i can do to it to make it perform better?
its just a toy not a full race car. so full frame is out of the question. im not prone to changing to a good 4 link but i hear the torque arm works well in these cars. its gonna be a street strip car
Katostud,
I may be mistaken but I do not think the Vega used a Torque Arm. I think it used a Triangulated 4 Link like a Chevelle type. I am not really for sure though.
Most of the street Vegas I have run across that have had engine swaps were using short ladder bars on them with different types of rear ends. You can not put much power to the ground with the factory rear ends, I am pretty sure of that.
i have a monza 10 bolt rear end with a torque arm setup in my vega. before i get any real power in it im gonna put in a 10 pt cage with rocker bars and subframe connecters
