caprice suspension

Post by alfonso »

i have a chevy caprice wagonImage
that i would like to put a prepared dodge 83/4 rear from my 78 malibu
that i now run a 4 link system

Image

the dodge 8 3/4 rear was set up
with stock suspension bracketry for g body frame
is the gm suspension for both frames the same?
what will i have to change to make rear work in wagon
if from now on you blame anything on anybody
it might be the alien spores from the meteors...

I know the suspension setup is the same design but the caprice and monte rear housings are diferent withs. I would make a guess that the rear end mounts are wider in location because the withs.
Sorry if I ask alot of questions, but you never stop learning if you ask questions

chevy 8.5 will not hold with any real torque #s
remember it is a big weight and big block tq
the rear is 3 in narrower[at 52 1/2] than the 8.5 and ears remain same but lower arms locator moved out ward from what i understand from other forum
might just back half the wagon
if from now on you blame anything on anybody
