Don,
You might look into working (tuning) your pcm.
Go to www.carputing.com
Lt1 edit is where I would start with your mods, its not difficult to master.
Allows you to adjust shift points firmness, rpm limits, speed limit, injector duty cycle, timing, and on and on.

Here is where you can get the software I use. http://www.tunercat.com/

I have been beta testing for this guy for some time. Their OBD2 LT1 software should be released soon. May be able to get it by now. I can check. Much more in the way of capability and parameters available than Lt1edit, and you don't have to buy a license for each PCM (as you do with Lt1edit), in case you want to have a spare PCM, or work with another vehicle.

I have been playing with a 1996 TA for a couple of years. Mine runs low tens, with a normally aspirated 383" LT1, with LT4 heads and intake and the original 4L60E still in place. If I can help with anything, just let me know. On my website, the black car on the right is mine.

Good luck, Ed

Don, just clicked on that link. she's prettier than you also!. I got mine to run 13.60s with stock exhaust, torque converter and 3.23 gears. Nittos and some PCM tuning was all it took. If I can help with anything, please let me know. I can send you a PCM to try if you like.
