Re: The J58 Turboramjet
I have said before that McNamara, Rumsfeld, Cheney or whoever it was that scrapped the SR-71's molds should have been f** hung for treason!
I figure that somebody in the Gov./IMC figured that we had a lead with the Blackbird that nobody could afford to keep up with us by making their own copy of it so that they said "We will just scrap it!!'... Level the f** "playing field" here is ll..
The one good thing is that if absolutely needed, I figure one of the few that are left can still be pulled out of display/storage and put back into flying shape in not too short a time!

I have that book! I was lucky enough to tour Beale AFB back in the 80s and got to see the SR71 up close! I will never forget that...ijames wrote:Just in case you have one up on jackstands and need a little help: http://www.amazon.com/Lockheed-SR-71-Bl ... 0857331566 I'm sure Chilton's is working on theirs asap .
It's better to be criticized by a wise man than praised by a fool.

In case you get one started up and then realize that you don't know what to do next, apparently the flight manual was declassified a few years ago. Found this link in the same Usenet thread as the Haynes manual link . http://www.sr-71.org/blackbird/manual/
