RIP Ronnie Manchester

Post by engineczar »

Found out over the weekend that Ronnie has passed on. He was still a young 72 years old.

I Met Ronnie about 20 years ago and quickly became good friends. He did most of my block and crank work for me and was always spot on with his workmanship. He was never one to quickly shuffle anyone out the door and listening to stories of his old Pro Stock days and the battles with Jenkins and other heavy hitters from the 80's was always entertaining. While I had heard he could be a very polarizing figure I always found him easy to get along with. A competitor until the end I always found him to be sharp and I learned a lot about how horsepower is made as well as how it can be lost. I'm going to miss him.
