I bet some of you that are handy in the shop, are also handy in the kitchen.
I like to cook, not everyday, but I always cook a majority of the Thanksgiving feast.
So who's got some good recipies that people really go for?
I'll start it off with an easy side that folks really like.
Candied Sweet potatoes.
Peel the sweet potatoes and boil until just tender enough to stick a fork in them. Drain and slice them into thirds lengthwise. Arrange them single layer in a glass oven casserole pan. Cover with lots of brown sugar. Dot them with butter. Squeeze fresh lemon juice all over them, grate some of the lemon rind over them too (lemon zest) then bake in in the oven for about 30 min at 350* so it's all bubbly around the potatoes. Let them cool a bit before serving

Automotive Machining, cylinder head rebuilding, engine building. Can't seem to quit
Re: Thanksgiving cooking / recipies
Sounds good! I'm making sweet potato pie for desert on Thanksgiving. Using the brown sugar recipe this year......
