Thanks for your article, it was most interesting to me.
I worked for A. P. Green Firebrick/RefractorIes Company, Mexico, MO for like 18.5 years so know a bit about firebrick! My last 12.5 years was in Gunning.
My main specialty was Gunning Plastics and Castable Refractories before we parted ways.
And to this day like 20+ years later, I am still a world class expert on what I did for them back then.
I will bet a donut hole to a $100 bill that I am still one of a handful of people that can do what I did for Greens..
I also figured out how to pump refractory castables using both pressure tank and swing tube machines! Ultra Low and self leveling!!
I can operate Reed Guns, all the Allentown guns, and the Piccola and Aliva guns. I have only seen one Bondacer(Sp?), gun so don't know how to operate it. And the old Putzmeister EM200 tank gun is a winner..
Don't get me started on the swing tube pumps!
