Tranny Fluid

Post by LilRacr » Mon Aug 01, 2005 4:15 pm

I was given about 30 quarts of old (not sure how old) Exxon superflo trans fluid, it's still in the cardboard/metal top cans.

Does it go bad over age? Is it good to use still?

I was thinking of using it in my street car that makes several runs a year, nothing super fast, mid 13 second ride.

Anybody with any tips?

LilRacr, This trans fluid does not meet modern specifications and should not be used. Cobra

Thanks Cobra!

That is what I was afraid of, I was scared to use it in the race trans but was unsure about using it in a street car trans.

Don't throw it out it's still good for cleaning cylinder walls and ports after they've been worked on.

That is basically what I am going to do with it. It does work great for other things also.
