I have several questions concerning a combination and in theory how things should, could will , wouldn't act.
My old combo made less power had smaller heads . 243 cc head 266-272 @.050 108 sep 53,5 overlap 410 inch stall 9.5 dia flashed 5500 with 2.46 first gear 4.33 rear gear 28 tire
I tried a 5.0 gear in the car and lost 500 flash and 60 ft fell off.
with 4,33 slippage was 14% at 1/8 mile 1.30-1.33 60 ft 5.95 et
with 5.0 slippage was &5 at 1/8 mile 1.36-1.38 60 ft 6.09 et
I have freshened motor and had the motor on the dyno this go round.
changes I made 272-281@.050 57 overlap 110 sep, aluminum rods, port cc to 282 cc 427 inch
motor made pk tq 5500 621 and hp at 7500 hp 810
2,20 first gear ratio
I have a 8 inch converter and the 9,5 converter
I have looked at different tranny fluid visc temp 100
degree numbers from 10.0 to 4.9
the 8 inch is fresh will stall speed to be 5500 from converter people.
they had dyno numbers to work with.
since port volume is greater but motor and motor is making more power how do I approach this ?
which stall ? gear?
the 2.20 gear should bring back some flash on the 5.0 gear and 9,5 dia converter
additional power should flash higher but the port volume is bigger , but motor is injected alky
I can run a 4.9 visc opposed to the 10.0 fluid.
my goal is a 5.80 index
