Omaha NE area shop for ring & pinion....3.5in exhaust?

Post by mmbroker68 » Wed Aug 03, 2016 11:53 pm

Do any of you guys know a good place to have swap out my ring & pinion? Ford 9 with spool. I have the gears but no bearing. Also, looking for someone do a short run of 3.5 in exhaust. I have the mufflers and want them to dump in front of the axle. Called and called and nobody wants the exhaust job since it is more than 3". If anyone can point me somewhere hear that'd be great. Thanks

For the R&P, I would recommend Ryan Auto Parts in Council Bluffs...712-322-4640. They know their stuff!
The exhaust I would start with Joe at Midas on 75th & Dodge. Not sure if they can handle that size, though.

FWIW, David Vizard's extensive exhaust testing (resisting the urge to write "exhaustive"...) has shown that each square inch of pipe can support over 50 HP with virtually no power loss. That means dual 3" pipes can deal with ~ 750 HP and 3.5" can handle 1,000. My latest calculations for my 498" BBC build are ~ 750 HP, so in the interests of fit and sound control, I'm going to neck down my 4" in 3.5" out Flowmasters to 3'' oval tailpipes. http://www.spintechmufflers.com/oval-tu ... at_42.html
