Looking for some up to date reviews on these guys- J&B is a Canadian company and is particularly tough to find info about- but would be easier to deal with location wise. Want a nice efficient converter for a 4L80E for medium towing, mileage, 4x4, NOT racing and have sensible updates- ie clutch material.

Re: OE style 4L80E converter rebuilder.
My dad has a '90 Suburban with 500 cid Cadillac, 4L80E and 14 bolt full floating rear with 3.23 gears. It has LOOOOOOOONG legs on the highway and is a great tow vehicle.
The converter is from a 350 powered truck with 4L80E and towing package. It's the "dual stator" model.

Turns about 2200 at 80 in 4th gear lockup and pulls very very nicely.
Anyway, look up the dual stator converter from a 350 powered truck with towing package... it's a good towing converter. The factory lockup clutch is rated at 500 ftlbs.
