Technically the PG should be quicker in a drag only application at that power level and weight - provided the converter and chassis setup is right. On a bang for the buck basis the TH wins hands down. Why not do the TH and spend the difference on some more weight dropping changes?

I have about 950hp on spray..i run a turbo 400 i think its pretty quick..i think the 400 would be faster and the p/g would be more consistent...my 02 :D

I would pick a TH400 over the Glide in that heavy of an application. If you see any street time at all it's going to be a pain to get it going with a glide.

However if you're a bracket racer it's hard to argue or beat a glide.

A racing buddy called his converter guy and was told, "Anything under 3,ooo# to use a glide over that a 350 or 400 would be quicker". If I remember right his 3600 lb SBC Chevelle was .02 quicker with the 400. In this case i would consider it a wash. In my opinion a high torgue engine may not need the low gear of the turbo.
