Speedometer correction

Post by slowmobile »

TH350.

Original gear ratio was a 3.23 now it's 3.90. I used to have a conversion box on an old pickup of mine that threaded onto the drive gear housing and the speedo cable then threaded onto it.

Thanks.

speedo correction

Post by tubbytube »

I can help you with this.....but I need to know if the drive housing in the
trans is the older large unit ( roughly the size of a silver dollar ) or if it is
the newer small ( about the size of a quarter ) size.
Look at the trans where the speed-o screws on ......Large housing, or small ?
Then give me the height of the rear tire in inches. (24,25,26.5,27.25,28,29......)
You will need to replace both the drive, and driven gear, to get this correct.
I'm not fat I'm just big boned.
