glasspack Q.

Post by fordsmoker »

i have some real old glasspacks that i cut off my truck. i am planning to put them back on but dont know which way they were on. when they were on my truck had a really loud roar to it and everybody liked the way it sounded. which way does a glasspack go on. the louvers inside have one smooth side and one open side to it. which way points where. smooth closed side to engine or open side to engine dont know. any info would be greatly appreciated.

looking at the louvres inside the pipe the smooth side is the inlet, if your looking at the open side of the louvres that is the exit..

Can't you put them on either way? If you put the open side towards the inlet they will quiet the noise and if you put the open side towards the outlet they will be louder?

IDK, there is a direction of flow sticker on these types of mufflers, i wouldn't want to add any un-needed back pressure
