powerjection efi--any experiences or dyno result comparisons

Post by mbrooks »

looking at this setup with all the stuff configured into the holley look-alike carburetor, which is really a tb type injection system. looks pretty simple, wondering if anyone here has any experience.

Used the 2V 670 cfm unit on a 66 Ford F-100 short bed mild custom I did some years ago using a moderate 302 and C-4. Worked well for basic EFI. Good throttle response, cold starts, economy, etc. In this project, I moved the fuel tank from the cab to the rear, using a GM van tank. The only problem I encountered was even as low and rearward as I could mount the pump, at 1/4 tank or below, the pump, on a couple of occasions, lost it's prime and it was a real mother to get it to start again. I've heard they made improvements on the pump. My solution was to never let the tank get below 1/4. Don't have any HP numbers to give, but for a moderate price, it worked well except for the above glitch.
