Charge intensity deterioration
Would anyone happen to have any thoughts on ignition charge intensity deterioration while traveling through the plug wires of today? I know yesteryear's parts quality wasn't great and allowed leakage throughout the ignition wire.

Re: Charge intensity deterioration
With many of today's engines using coil on plug (COP) you are only talking about a few inches booted wire.

Re: Charge intensity deterioration
I assume you've looked at the running engine in the dark and spotted corona discharge.
Some wires are still better than others from the start, and others simply do not last as long. The MSD wires are good, but do not last as long as the Magnecor in my testing with good CDI systems. A strong inductive system seems to be less hard on wires. I am sure there are a few other good wires, but Magnecor seems to work well for my needs.

Thanks guys. Would you, w. Tripp, Mr. Weiss or anyone else, happen to have any opinions on Taylor wires?

I am most curious to learn why any wire material could be superior to multi-stranded solid copper wire that is properly shielded to limit RFI.
I have yet to find such a wire material.

Thank you for that link Joe.
Do spark plug wires vary quite a bit David between each company or has everyone found a basic foundation for plug wire design and add in their 'ingredients'?
What are your views Bill?

Re: Charge intensity deterioration
I remember reading in Smokey's autobiography that there is a product out there to help this situation out some, I can't remember who he said made this stuff, maybe MSD? By now I am sure many companies make something to 'help' leaking electrical charges stay in the wires, I am just not sure who.
