wiring my 53 cranbrook

i have 53 plymouth cranbrook and rewiring it,bought it as project
[was a 6v but changed to 12v but they kept the old frayed wires :shock: ]
and using gm alternator 12v that came with car.
i am using the old wiring diagram from a p24 to wire car
the horn relay is the main junction.
i am new to wiring,where do i put fuse block on system?
do i need one?
light relay and what type?
where do i connect alternator to feed the system.
wiring is new to me thanks

Im not a wiring expert, but Ive converted a few from 6-12, a fog lite relay should work for headlights, if its a 1 wire alt. feed direct to battery, you didnt mention gas gauge an IRC 9211 PW10 25 ohm. 5 % resistor available @ radio shack wired in power feed will work for gas gauge.

my next problem is figuring which of the horn relays connection are what
the diagram shows somewhat
but the relay is not quite like shown it has a bullet connection,a
center nut which is the main horn line and 2 more connects.
i am trying to see which goes to[coil neg.,ignition,flasher] [ ammeter,starter solenoid]
and which to [horn button]
