Hey bud, unless you tig weld that, it'll always be in the back your mind
when and if it'd going to leak and when it dose you know he'll be out in the
middle of no where, bite the bullet and tig it really. Do short cold welds,
you can get pretty damn close to a painted surface and not harm it.

I was thinking a wet rag and as you stated slow small welds are probably the best bet.
I just don't have much faith in epoxy vs gasoline formulas.
