wiring an alt

hey guys on a 1 wire alt (GM) ther is a plug on the back R and F I was told that I could loop one to the post and the other to acc when key is turn on can any of you tell me which wire goes where??

A real 1 wire alternator should have just the 1 wire.

A normal internal regulated alternator as used in the 70's you can run the #2 wire to the battery post on the alternator and the #1 (field) wire goes to the switch/idiot light.
