EBC brake pads

Post by 540 RAT »

Has anyone tried EBC yellow brake pads on their Hotrod's? If so:

1. How do/did you like them?

2. Where did you buy them?

Here's a link:

I have negative experiences with all EBC brake pads, EXCEPT their sintered HH pads for race bikes. That is a totally different pad.

Never tried the yellow though I must admit.

Issues:

Low coefficient of friction.
Excessive "polished but grooved" wear.
Lots of dust.

I recommend Performance Friction ceramic pads available at Autozone for hotrods and stuff you care about.

Agree with previous poster about those brakes.
They don't stop worth a crap until they get heated. They might be good for a raod course or race track in a form of racing requireing frequent braking. Not for the street though.

For a car using OEM style Barke Pads I find it hard if not impossible to beat the Bendix Titanium Brakes. Next to that would be the best grade of Professioanl brakes from Waggoner.

If you have a GM car the Factory Delco Morane Brakes are pretty good too.

I hate the Autozome Carbon Metalics. They put out far too much black carbon dust to be liked on a street vehicle, for my tastes.

Raybestos I hate in any grade. The better grades are tough on Drums and Rotors.

The previous written is only my opinions, based on personal experiences.
