What can you tell me about my "incremental times"

Post by cudabin »

What can I learn from my incremental times to determine how to go faster??? We are still tuning and learning and would appreciate any observations.

60 foot = 1.35
330' = 4.0182
594' = 5.8279
1/8 = 6.2329 at 111.11
1000' = 8.1478
1/4 = 9.7718 at 138.94

Best 60 foot ever was 1.33 and best mph ever was 139.2 mph.

Car is a 67 cuda ( 2,900#'s)with a 470ci, 440-1 heads (unported), 1050 w/ 94 jets squared, 727 trans w/ alum drum, Cheeta reverse trans brake, 8" Coan convertor 5,200 stall launched at 4,400 on the 2 - step. Stange s-60 with 4.56 gears and 10.5W - 31 Tires.

Shfting at 6,800 and trapping around 7,100

How does the down track progression seem to you guys ?

thanks,

Arnie

I am not the right person to be anwsering this question. But I will take a stab at it and see what it brings out of others & there input. I am sure they will know way better than me. But it looks to me like your convertor is not just perfect for the combo. Seems to be down just a bit on the 1/8 et, and maybe a little to much slip on the top end to. But it is hard to even begin to guess with this much info & over the internet. Your 60ft looks good though, and your MPH looks good in the 1/8th, but maybe a tic shy in the 1/4.

Just wandering, what intake & cam you running. Anyway, I guess what I am thinking is that a little more stall, plus more RPM on the two step, and then tighten up a bit on top should bring a bit more 1/8 mile ET & more top end MPH which should bring a bit more ET all around. But I may not have a clue here. Maybe some others will come in and have a much better idea. Over all, sounds like it does pretty darn good anyway the way it is. And running a 10.5 tire I am not sure how much you can hit it on the launch and get away with it. As far as the engine, some port work, cam, and if it doesnt have the right intake one of them to, could bring in some more HP. It does seem like you could be a bit higher on HP for your combo, but not knowing how much compression & other things that is just a wild guess.

Like I said though, I am not the right person to be anwsering your question. I am just a backyard bracket racer or worse, so maybe some of these guys will come in and get us inline.
