time based switch?
does anyone know where i can get a time base switch? i need to delay the time at which it comes on, hold it for a set amount of time, then turn it off. kind of like a window switch but i want it based off time. the msd 7531 has one built in. called msd to see if they offer a seperate one but they dont, any ideas???
These types of programmable time delay switches are commonly used for industrial processes. Most operate from high voltage ac mains power, but I believe 12v/24v dc units are available, you will probably need to ask for a low voltage dc version.
Omron are a very large Japanese company, but there are plenty of other similar alternatives.

These timers come up fairly frequently on e-bay, but make very sure that what you buy will work on 12v dc,
