Union Busting At Telsa?

Post by Ken0069 » Sun Oct 15, 2017 4:00 pm

I saw this headline on MSN.com:

Tesla Fires Workers in Wake of Annual Performance Evaluations
Stephen Stapczynski
October 14, 2017

http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companie ... li=BBnbfcL

So then I went looking to see if there was a union organizing campaign going on there and found this:

Labor board says Tesla interfered with employee union organizing
Elizabeth Weise, USATODAY Published 9:33 p.m. ET Aug. 31, 2017 | Updated 9:51 a.m. ET Sept. 1, 2017

So it looks like Elon Musk doesn't want Tesla to be a union shop and he just fired a bunch of ppl "for cause", ie, not producing, which I would guess was the union wannabes doing this on purpose. Be interesting to see how this plays out down the road, hey!

Looks like the union organizing heat is getting to Musk as now he's looking to open a Telsa manufacturing facility in China?

Tesla in Talks to Set Up Electric Car Factory in Shanghai
HONG KONG — Tesla Motors is in discussions to establish a factory in Shanghai, its first in China, a move that could bolster its efforts in one of its major markets even as it further lifts China’s position as a builder of electric cars.

In a statement on Thursday, Tesla said it needed to set up more overseas factories to make cars that customers could afford. Such a strategy is a must in China, which charges steep tariffs for imported cars.

“Tesla is working with the Shanghai Municipal Government to explore the possibility of establishing a manufacturing facility in the region to serve the Chinese market,” a company spokesman said. “Tesla is deeply committed to the Chinese market, and we continue to evaluate potential manufacturing sites around the globe to serve the local markets.” (read more)

Tesla should be encouraged to become a union shop. The resulting higher operating costs will result in Tesla's earlier demise and hopefully an end to the government subsidies we tax payers are funding.

China would be a great place to build those cars; he can go there and help wreck their economy.

I agree, and when equipped with all those nice Chinese Lithium Ion batteries the cars will be all burning to the ground.
