Looking for the dial indicator holder that goes on the spindle of a Serdi 100 for tracking seat depth.

Like the one pictured, .. .. .. Serdi didn't have any

You could try Jamison Equip. I think they have reproductions.

Should work the same as the original just less money.

Hope it helps

Can you use this? http://www.grizzly.com/products/Univers ... lder/G9629 Never seen or touched a Serdi so there may be some obvious reason why not, but it looks functionally similar from your picture. Grizzly just had a nice picture, but there are lots on ebay and www.mscdirect.com if you favor a particular brand.

Ijames,
I bought one of those things ....once. It is cheesy and flimsy. After an hour it hit the round file.

That's what I was afraid of, but saw the picture and thought I'd mention it since I couldn't find any full circle holders. The cheap ones are $10, but msc has Fowler and Mitutoya brand holders with a test dial indicator for $130-150. I couldn't see enough detail in the pictures to know if they would be much stiffer or not.

Curtis,
I made my own out of a 1" piece of 3.5" ex tube, cut a section out so the diameter was correct and welded a couple of nuts so it would clamp onto the spindle, then welded a short piece of steel to the side so the dial could attach to it. took about 45 min to make, works like a bought one.

do you have a photo by chance?

seems completely insane to me that any company building seat machines doesn't have this critical
but simple required tool !!

The Taylor unit mounts on top of the spindle,
I do mostly canted valve heads and need to indicate off of the deck.

I made something myself,, I'll post a photo when I can.

I'm looking for two myself. Has anyone had any luck locating these?

I'm considering having a couple made. If I attempt this would anyone else be interested in one themselves? Having a half dozen made vs two may be more cost effective.
