Painting a garage floor is a lot about the preparation as much as the actual paint.

If prepped right ... just a normal exterior concrete porch paint works well.

I have a fresh floor and debated this over and over..

I'm going to use a concrete densifier and polish it with a wool pad.

As far as coating, I did purchased some for the porting room and lounge.

PPG two-part epoxy paint and follow their preparation instructions. I painted our machine shop floor PPG Horizon Gray (light gray) and have been pleased with the results.

Chad,

Which product did you decide to purchase from them?

I'm in the middle of an addition myself and was thinking about doing something with the concrete instead of leaving it bare like the rest of the shop.

Matter of fact the builders are outside working on it right now.

Hoping to have some trusses set by the end of the day.

Thanks,

Joe

I purchased ipaint solvent based 100% solids and Urethane clear for the porting room and lounge.

I'm putting this on 2000 sqft of the shop. Buff it with a wool pad.

Best deal i could find on the grey epoxy is at Lowes. 100% solids and is two part. Comes in 3 gallon kit for $300 but the have to order it and ship to the store. The kit comes with a roller, mixer for the drill, flakes, gloves, and measuring stick and even a squeegee. Pretty good stuff, make some walking boards with nails going through the bottom that strap to your shoes so you can walk and use leaf blower or compressed air to shoot at the bubbles that will form 15 minutes after you lay it down, this is normal due to the concrete off gassing and is recommended in the instructions. Fumes are low with the 100% solids stuff, used the home depot rust oleum epoxy before and it stank, was only like 35% solids if I remember. Better value with the stuff at Lowes for sure.
