Wondering this myself....

Larry is located a good deal west of New Orleans so he probably didn't have the rain that they had but definately had the wind and I would guess his power is out down there.

After watching for a while on tv, I had to shut it off...just terrible.
I sure hope our govt. will help them as much as they help everyone else in the world!

i'm OK, no Rain here,a few Wind gust from North at 35+ mph, its now very dry, hot and humid .

i finally got thru to a friend's House in Metaire, LA ,
he thinks Craig Bourgeois 's House and Shop are under water ???
i know Craig was in Bowling Green, KY , probably now at Indy ??
no answer on Cell Phone.

theres a bunch of other Racers that live in New Orleans area
that i haven't been able to reach by Phone....
a few phones actually ringing, but no answer,
and the rest of Calls are dead, no rings.

its never a good thing to stay during a Hurricane !

even if you have minor damage or no damage at all,
most probably you'll be without Electricity and Water
anywhere from 3 or 4 Days, to 1 to 3+ weeks.
Its extremely miserable the next Day after,
usually dead-calm air, very hot, very humid, no relief
from heat, no bathroom , etc.
Very hard to sleep at night as inside your Home
is usually as hot or hotter than outside.

Looking at CNN and FOX news coverage and video of
tremendous Wind and Water damage in New Orleans,
Mississippi, and Alabama areas.
All those People need our Prayers, help, donations, etc.
to help restore Lives and Businesses.

those People in these areas will be without Electricity, Water, Food,
etc for Weeks to Months !

what's pretty weird around my Shop and Home,
Abbeville area, is there are no Birds !
looks like the Birds took off in advance of this Hurricane,

very little regular Bugs now, but Mosquitos are increasing,
and so are Yellow-Jacket Wasps flying around , had to get Wasp Spray .

I know Maryland had power crews on way before storm was over. Our people and the feds will have to do it all, as in spite of all the help we send elsewhere, I don't think have ever heard of another country, ( maybe Canada excepted) sending us diddly. Is sad.

My brother is in Mobile- haven't heard from him yet. Hope everybody is ok.

Larry,

I'm glad to hear all is well with you and yours. We should all take the time to pray for those affected by this terrible storm.

here in Mobile , mostly just property damage, and power losses. Fortunately , we dont have any of the fatalities we are seeing along the Miss Coast. Its unreal when i see the pics, and my only thoughts have been , what would have it looked like if the winds hadnt calmed down before it hit.

Our thoughts and prayers with everyone.

Nothing works on bugs as good as carb cleaner. especially if you use a pilot light in the spray stream. Don't let any kids see you do it though.....
