Which Connecting Rods?

Which Connecting Rods?
Hi all, I need some help again: Trying to decide on which connecting rods to get.
Combo: 406 sbc, Little M block, solid roller, F1 Procharged cog drive, 20psi, Howards forged crank with BBC snout. Street/stip car.
Looking at the Howard's billet or the Eagle H-beam with ARP L-19 bolt upgrade. I hear the Howards are good for around 1000hp or so and the Eagles to 1200hp.
Suggestions, thoughts, and comments are appreciated!
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
Scott

Re: Which Connecting Rods?
I know it's your money but I was thinking more like a set of Oliver rods or maybe a set of the Dyers rods.1Bad'66 wrote:Hi all, I need some help again: Trying to decide on which connecting rods to get.

Thanks guys...I was trying to stay away from the uber expensive stuff: Howard's I can get for around 600-650/set and the Eagle a little less than that.
Just trying to figure it out.
Again, Thanks,
Scott

They (Howard's) are having a sale on their billet rods. You should be able to pick them up for under $500.001Bad'66 wrote:Thanks guys...I was trying to stay away from the uber expensive stuff: Howard's I can get for around 600-650/set and the Eagle a little less than that.

what?.. Eagle H-beam rods stronger than Howard Billet rods? Cheap eagle rods good to 1200hp? I have eagle H-beams in one of my motors and I was told about 600+ hp. Billet rods on sale for less than $500.. where? I called them yesterday afternoon and they were $879.95. That was the price at Competition Products as of yesterday, too. I ordered a set. Yes about 1000hp for the Howards billet, but 1200hp for the Eagles??

Check your PM's..................
Mostly street miles...
PM's checked and replied to.

Hello Scott! I have a set of the Howard billet rods, but I have not used them yet. I recently shoped around for the best price on a set of the Compstar I-beam's for friend. The best price I found was from Steve Morris Racing. They are really nice looking rods. SMR is were I ordered the Howards.
Good luck!
