The BB Chevy head may have been casted at Canfield in Ohio, But . Where did the core and head design originate from Mena, Arkansas .BEARCAT wrote:THE CANFIELD ALUMINUM HEADS WERE CAST BY CANFIELD CYLINDER HEADS IN OHIO. BRODIX ONLY CASTED THE SMALL BLOCK CHEVY AND SMALL BLOCK FORD HOLLEY HEADS IN THE FIRST FEW YEARS THEY WERE MADE.

"Quality" is like buying oats. You can pay a fair price for it and get some good quality oats,
or you can get it a hell of a lot cheaper, when it's already been through the horse.

I am doing a set of the Holley SBF heads right now and I wish you would have posted a 'before' pic. These Ford heads have a massive wing before the guides. Knocking that out and opening up the bowl to where it should be brought the heads from 234 to 264cfm. Still a really small runner with 2.02 valves.
Looks like your bowls are still small but it looks like you are in the 'work in progress' phase.

Here's a set of unported, OTB Holley 575 small block Ford heads (left) versus the Brodix ST50 heads (right). The Holleys "look" like an Edelbrock casting they way the exhaust flange is molded and the rocker bosses but I am probably WAY OFF!
