Letter to Obama

Postby 2xmod » Sun Oct 18, 2009 6:05 pm

Original letter attributed to Franklin T. Bell of Columbia, Maryland. Ms. Kathleen Lyday simply forwarded the e-mail apparently in full agreement as I have.

Michael L. Agee

April 17, 2009

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington , DC 20500

Mr. Obama:
I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America . You are responsible to the citizens of the United States .. You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe ? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States ? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia . You didn't show Great Britain , our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia . How dare you, sir! How dare you!

You cant find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don't want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey ... You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What's the matter with you? I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you..

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven't said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn't!

Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven't you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now?

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you.

I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

Sincerely,
Every real American

P.S. I rarely ask that emails be 'passed around'.............PLEASE SEND THIS TO YOUR EMAIL LIST......it's past time for all Americans to wake up!

I don't know if the letter is a valid letter or not, but it is indicative of why so many of us thinking conservatives had to "bite the bullet" and vote for Obama.

Our country being brought to it's knees by the infestation of non thinking people that put (outsourced) corporate interests above not only their own, but ahead of society as a whole, and our very survival as a country.

It's doubtful that we majority, can save us from the fringe extremists which are backed by the finances of their (now foreign) corporate dictators, that have become a screaming cancer on our society, but at least some of us will try!

I am hopeful, but doubtful, that the republican party will ever be relevant again, but I hope that they can somehow shed these psycho fringe so that we majority have a voice, and a chance to vote for logic and country - not just a mandate to vote against the nuts such as the letters author.

"why so many of us thinking conservatives had to "bite the bullet" and vote for Obama."

I would say most of the conservatives knew darn good and well who Obama was and is.

Most of the true thinking conservatives held their noses and closed their eyes IF they voted for McCain and would NEVER vote for ANY democrat.

Many Republicans considered McCain to be just another RINO democrat, thus not vote worthy.

So, basically the election was for one or the other democrat.

People are NOT happy.

What I think is rediculous nowadays is that you don't have the right to ticked off without being called "nuts" or "extremist". That's nothing but a sound bite used to instill fear. "Fear these people" we offend. I get angry at times because of frustration with lack of moral and technical education...but I don't hear liberals worried about that. I also don't care if a "Republican" ever gets elected again...we, sadly, get the same attitude from each party. It doesn't matter what name the party is called as long as I have more in common with the platform as far as opinions on issues. Anymore, while having more in common with Republicans, I can no longer call myself one. I am a conservative. Republicans are weak and worried about themselves just like liberals in general. There may be very isolated exceptions. Both parties are about what they want, not the people. That is the message they send once the are Mandated, supposedly. No.. no mandate...they just look at it as a free-for-all. Do what you want.

 Your screen name is well taken, Q-ship! I must respectfully call BS on that one, though. For no 'thinking conservative' would ever knowingly vote for a radical left-wing socialist such as Mr. Soetoro (AKA 'Obama'). He and those whom he associates and surrounds himself with pride themselves on being the antithesis of every guiding principle this great nation was founded upon...... And everything true conservatives believe in.

FWIW...... Their losses in the '06 mid-term elections whereby the Republicans deservedly lost their majority in Congress...... And the '08 elections whereby that loss was exacerbated and they lost the White House as well...... Were their own fault and had little to do with Americans embracing leftists (as the left-biased media would have us believe).

In truth, it had everything to do with the spineless 'go along to get along' Republican party 'leadership' abandoning and disenfranchising the party's conservative base and moving inexorably leftward (though at a slower pace than the Democrat party 'leadership') over the years. This left conservatives with little choice in '06...... And two choices in '08......

* Vote for the 'moderate / liberal' presidential candidate the Republican party 'leadership' chose to run and Republicans in Congress as the 'lesser of evils' as did I......

* Or stay away from the polls and pound on their high chairs because 'their' candidate didn't receive the presidential nomination. Unfortunately, many conservatives (both Republicans and Independents such as myself) did just that, playing right into the hands of the radical left-wing extremists now leading the Democrat party...... And America...... In exactly the wrong direction.

As a result, the Democrats now have the football and are blindly running headlong down the field the wrong way. And that is why America is in the mess it is in today.

Looking forward to 2010 and 2012 to correct this,

Harry

Looking forward to 2010 and 2012 to correct this,
Aren't we all?

Many folks did not vote FOR Obama; they voted AGAINST the policies of the incompetent Bush administration and a stooge nominee. They knew we would suffer the slings and arrows of liberalism but hoped it would only last until the next election.

The good news is that in 2010 we have a chance to clean house in Congress.

The bad news is that the Republicans still do not have a credible candidate worthy of our vote.

 We'll have to agree to disagree regarding your assessment of the competency of most of those who served in the Bush administration, David...... With the exception of the holdovers he ill-advisedly kept on from the Clinton appointees...... Several of whom turned out to be Democrat 'moles' and later published books having little if any basis in fact in their efforts to paint the Bush administration in a bad light.

So much for his efforts at bi-partisanship. In hindsight, Bush should have cleaned house when taking office and put his own people in all key posts. He found out the hard way that Washington politics is a lot dirtier than Texas politics. Offer the current crop of Democrat politicians in Washington a carrot and they'll gladly take it...... And then spit in your eye as did the late Ted Kennedy.

Regarding congressional candidates, there are 435 members serving in the House and 100 in the Senate. Of those 535 members of Congress, roughly 60% are Democrat and 40% Republican presently, if you include the 2 Independents who caucus mainly with the Democrats. Not all will be up for re-election in 2010, of course. So 2012 and 2014 will present excellent opportunities to clean house (and senate) as well.

FWIW...... Perhaps 15 or 20 truly conservative Republican incumbents out of those now serving in Congress are worth retaining in my view.

And No...... Zip...... Zero...... Nada...... Democrats whatsoever!

As for the rest...... Republican and Democrat alike...... I wouldn't give a plug nickle for the lot of them...... With the exception of Joe Lieberman, who is a fairly liberal Independent since the radical left-wing extremists now running the Democrat party decided to punish him for refusing to join them 8 years ago in their ongoing attempts to sabotage the war effort for political gain. (No, I didn't vote for Lieberman when he was Al Gore's running mate 9 years ago. Its a package deal. Vote for the Democrat candidate and you are voting for furtherance of the Democrat party agenda.)

David, the time has come for those who feel they can make a difference for the better to give back to the country that gave them the freedom and the opportunity to become a success in life and to realize the American dream through their own hard work and diligence.

Perhaps you might consider stepping up to the plate? You could run as a candidate of any party you choose...... Or even start your own.

Whatever your choice...... If you do this...... Please work towards strict term limits for all those in Congress so as to return power to the people...... And keep the civics lesson from this old cartoon circa 1948 in mind......

http://nationaljuggernaut.blogspot.com/ ... -1948.html

...... And this perspective on history in mind as well......

Exactly right.

The citizens wanted to punish the Republican party for eight years of Bush Disasters. They didn't vote FOR Obama, they voted AGAINST the Republican candidate.

The Republican party will--hopefully--never be the same again.

Politics has been fifty years of war against the middle class. Republicans twist laws to favor the honest rich, the criminal rich, and the lazy rich. Democrats twist laws to favor the honest poor, the criminal poor, and the lazy poor. NOBODY has been looking out for the middle class.
