epoxy?

I have a 97 SVT Cobra and my IMRC solenoid gave out. I read on a website about modifying my o.e. plates, my question is what type of epoxy to use, where can i get it, and is it expensive? I also would like to know how well it holds up, sure would hate to ruin the motor because the epoxy came loose. I've heard of using West Systems epoxy, but haven't heard any follow ups on longevity or problems. Any help here would be appreciated. Thank you.
