fuel hard line vs braided suggestions?

Post by alfonso »

woke up this morning with a puddle of gas under the engine were the header and braided fuel lines are closest
the other owner ran lines real close to header
i plan just to race the thing not show
can i run from fuel pumps aluminum line by headers to regulators
and save some money and not worry about brittle rubber down road again
what size line would you use ,where would you buy it and fittings
can i run hard lines to pumps or have to use a rubber hose from hard line to pump
if from now on you blame anything on anybody
it might be the alien spores from the meteors...

i would run the hard tube, but id wrap it real well in fiberglass sleeve where its close to the headers, and consider stainless rather than heat absorbing Al.

Can you reroute the line away from the pipes? Hot fuel aint no good!

Are the regs fixed, or floating on the engine?

Id want some allowable movement in the line running to the pump unless its fixed real tight otherwise vibration might crack a hard tube.

youll need to provide more info on engine/hp etc to get a smarter guy than me to prose on line sizes etc.

i ended up using summit alum 1/2 inch from the regulator in front of front shock tower
back to end of frame rail before the c section and took and used braided from there to pump
no easy feat
