What kind of seat do you have? Maybe the seat is too small or narrow and is cutting off blood circulation. Or maybe the seat isn't positioned right. Some race seats aren't known for comfort.

I experienced the same symptoms and it was diagnosed as a combination of rotator cuff issues and carpal tunnel.
Had the rotator cuff repaired and also the endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery.
If you need carpal tunnel surgery, find a doctor that does the endoscopic carpal tunnel release surgery.
The new surgery consists of 3 stitches on the wrist and was able to use a keyboard two days after the surgery.
The old way, they cut your wrist open and recovery takes months instead of days.

Had a customer that was a dr. racer part time hand specialist full time. I had carpal tunnel, couldnt take time for operation, heres what he told me to do , get hand braces that you bend into position one pair for work and one for home. set them to raise your fingers in an up position, it takes pressure off the area and lets internal swelling go down, along with vitamin E . 2 weeks symtoms gone , It worked for my wife also. Typing and die grinders aggravate this problem.nhrastocker wrote:I experienced the same symptoms and it was diagnosed as a combination of rotator cuff issues and carpal tunnel.

Re: Drivers, Arm gets numb while driving, any cures
Well I'm learning to live with it. I have a mountain bike now also I ride everyday--no fuel costs, lol. On long rides my left arm gets numb, rubbing the arm seems to quicken recovery. My car has a worn out bench seat, lots of room but weak support on the bottom
Was doing some hard landscaping work last month and using an ax to break though some large tree roots that needed to be removed from the lawn. Both of my arms got pretty bad, towards the end my arms would get so numb they would hurt bad and wake me up at night. That was it and the rest of the tree roots are still in the yard, ha ha.
It may have help thou, today I got a good 50 miles on my car and didn't have much problems. Good news is I'm getting My Blue Health insurance, just signed up. So maybe surgery I will be getting soon but I like to wait as long as possible. If my arms ever hurt so bad again that I can not sleep to the doctors I will go. I'm thinking that surgery is the answer but so true, its who is the doctor and what hospital you go to makes a heck of a difference.
