Hi ya all! Wel vinter is coming on fast in Finland and the racingseasson is over for now! Last year i built a new 360cid CSB i couldnt afford to build a 434csb.
its a pretty lame engine compared to wath you guys in the us are building. anny way i got the 60ft down to 1.685sek ET 11.7 193km/h 119.92mp/h
My setup is a Chevrolet Nova 1972 3650lbs racerady with me in it. it has slappers Hijackers and stock leafsprings M/T et streetradials 255 15" 27"tall 4:10 gears
and i put it in drive when i race its a bracket car it shifts @ 5500rpms. im thinking of getting Caltracks, race shocks for the rear and some loser leafsprings and some real race slicks. will it make a bigg differance or should i save upp for a 434cid build? ive got 90/10shocks in the front.
Thanx.

Re: traction advise?
Your engine is not that lame. It calculates out to 492 hp. The rear suspension and the 5500 shift point is what is keeping the car from low 11's as of now. You need to give a lot more info such as tranny, convertor, cam, carb, etc but the slapper bars and 27" tires are the tip of the iceberg for your combo's 60 ft dilemma. Phil D.

Re: traction advise?
Hope the tranny has the governor modified otherwise it will shift out of low gear at 5500 rpm's whether you want to or not. Of course you probably have the tranny modified to avoid this problem already. Just shifting at 6500-6800 should pick you up 2-3 tenths. Phil D.Also, you still have a lot of potential left in this motor. Don't give up on it yet, work on the car leaving and you will go quicker and quicker.
Re: traction advise?
Nope the governor is not re worked. can i get the rpm up to 6500rpm with a calibration kit?
Re: traction advise?
You need to talk to a good performance tranny shop or go online to determine what you will need to do to either disable or modify the governor. The turbo 400 that was factory built for the solid lifter BBC back many moons ago would shift out of first gear if held in first WOT at 6800. Hydraulic cam stuff, 5500 just like the turbo 350 you are running. This is absolutely the first issue you need to address.
