rochester 2bbl carb problem

Post by themotorshop »

I got a Rochester 2bbl from ebay and rebuilt it, now I have installed it and it is pouring gas from the boosters before the motor has even been running, motor is on a test stand and I used the primer bulb to pump up the gas to the carb, wondering if it was originally missing a check ball or have done something else wrong, any help would be appreciated, thanks

pull the top off and look at the needle and make sure the float is closing, you may have to bend the float arm.

turned out that I was improperly watching my fuel system and using an outboard motor tank, and had a vent problem, the tank vent system was not working properly so I had to loosen the gas cap slightly to prevent pressure from building up and blowing fuel past the needle and seat, thanks
