Back in the last century when I autocrossed regularly, all my 'Vette competition used 'big-block' brackets for the rods running below the halfshafts to the diff frame mount. They said it worked better than the higher mounted smallblock setup by lowering the CG, regardless of what powerplant they used. Gen 2 Corvairs use essentially the same rear suspension and they also had a lower mount bracket for autocross.

Those changed the height of the inner (differential) attachment point for the lower control arms? I didn't know there was a big-block-versus-small-block difference, nor do I understand why they would want to make that distinction ... but be that as it may, lowering the inboard attachment point for the lower control arm will lower the roll center (not the center of gravity), and reduce the amount of camber change with suspension movement. I'm not sure how it will affect toe change with suspension movement.
