stabilizer bushing question

Post by Belgian1979 »

I have a 79 vette on which I'm going to mount gymkhana stabilizer bars in the front and back. The bars came with rubber bushings. On my current bar I'm using poly. The new bushings however seem to be taller than the bracket, which would mean that the bushing would be compressed when torquing down the bolts to the frame. Is an oem type bushing meant to do this and grip the bar ? With poly they rotate kinda freely.

Polys don't need to be tightened as tight as rubber... You can tune your front bar by tightening the links....
