Camaro is back to the action....finally!
Hello Gents,
I'd like to give those who helped me with my car/engine project a little update.
Last Sunday I raced my car with the new 427" SBC , after four years away from the Dragstrip building the engine and upgrading the drivetrain, suspension and brakes.
I'm happy because my car accelerate and brake straight, and looks like the engine is making some steam, although it need fine tunning to maximum performance.
The suspension also need a few tweeks to improve the sixty foot.
So far the best 1/8 mile ET is 1.81 60 foot and 7.004@ 106MPH and is kind of impressive (overhere in Brazil) for a street/strip gas burner, heavy car .
The Velopark Dragstrip was full of cars and lines, so I didn't have time to test engine and suspension changes, I just tweeked tire pressure.
I'm very happy with my car performance and I believe I can hit the high sixes on the next race.
So, once again, thanks everybody for the great, and I mean GREAT help you guys gave me, these results wouldn't be possible without your help
This is my baby in action:

Thank you very much Jim,,, ohh and its not a Gasser, its the suspension reacting and lifting the car all the way through the strip a little to much for my liking

Sure will...I have to tweek the front shocks a bit.
There is any other thing I can do on the rear suspension to help on that?

Looking GOOD! miss my 70 SS350.. Love the short spoilers on that Model yr. Try some limit straps on your front suspension and lower the rear if you have tire clearance..

Nice job Diego. Car and engine look sharp. Any videos yet?

Limit straps...won't they impede front end rise at launch and weight transfer?Old as Dirt wrote:Looking GOOD! miss my 70 SS350.. Love the short spoilers on that Model yr. Try some limit straps on your front suspension and lower the rear if you have tire clearance..
Unfortunatelly I haven't any more tire clearance at the rear,,,the tires are 1" from the fenders with the suspension unloaded.
That Pro Street Camaro looks awesome too!
Thanks !
