Buy the Total Seal it is less than 700.00 and you will love it. I have the ABS and Total Seal and both work good but I would recommend the Total Seal
Re: WTB Electric piston ring filer
I have a Childs & Albert RF-112 in excellent condition. $375.00 plus the shipping. If you're interested, or want more details, please give me a call.

Re: WTB Electric piston ring filer
I have the total seal and I love it. Repeatable & accurate. It comes with dial indicator, dressing diamond & de-burring wheel. It does not have the radius's marked out on the clamping table so set up of different diameter rings takes a couple of minutes longer. I believe that it is the same one that Goodson sells.
Re: WTB Electric piston ring filer
Goodson has two, one at $899 and another at $929. The list on the Total Seal is $699. Anyone know if it's just Goodson retail vs. jobber?

Re: WTB Electric piston ring filer
Other than color, it looks just like the one I got from Total Seal two years ago for $600. As others said, it's the real deal. Just hurts the wallet for a short while.

Another vouch for the Total Seal...had one for two years and well worth it...stay away from the Proform and other Chinese ones!
Re: WTB Electric piston ring filer
I have used all of them I now have the A B S ring filer with the diamond face stone & I think that is the best one out there
Re: WTB Electric piston ring filer
OK, you all talked me into the Total Seal and it arrived today. Haven't used it yet, but at first sight, it looks more like a $700 good idea than an actual $700 of machine. Will put it to work soon.

Re: WTB Electric piston ring filer
I use an ABS ring filer and it works very well. Have looked at the Total Seal tool and it is very impressive. They manufacture the ring filer at their plant in Phoenix.

Total Seal now has a diamond replacement wheel. just got mine so havent used it yet but have used the diamond on my abs filer and it works so well you wont want to go back to the other and its half price
Re: WTB Electric piston ring filer
I use my lathe with an old valve grinding wheel in the chuck and I made a fixture to hold the rings in the tool post.
